Healthy Homemade Salad Dressing | Vinaigrette
I’ve recently been watching a documentary on Netflix called Food Matters. The documentary shares a lot of great information… and provides support a raw, superfood diet.
I still have a lot of the documentary to get through… but it’s making me think a lot about what I consume – and about how cooking my food robs my food of nutrients that my body needs.
A steak itself may have good amount if iron in it, but it’s changed when you add heat.
With this in mind, we are trying to eat more raw fruits and vegetables to our diet, and eating vegetables raw… let’s be honest I’d rather eat a burger.
So my solution is coming up with healthy sauces and dressings for our veggies… and we LOVE this healthy homemade salad dressing recipe!
The documentary recommends at least 51 percent (I think… I’ll have to double check) raw foods.
The documentary also gets into the different types of soil that is used to farm produce for the masses… and how that soil lacks essential nutrients too. And THIS… just makes me want to plant a bunch of fruit and vegetable trees and plants and grow my own produce… I’m going to have to find a way to get tip top fertilizer too…
But, I don’t have a yard. And so until then, I’ll settle for the organic isle.
And I do still enjoy cooking my food… but I just want to make my food choices as wise, as good, and as wholesome as possible.
This recipe is great for a Cobb salad… which we ate the other day for lunch with it (featured in the image). For me… it would probable go even better with a salad with more raw fruits and veggies on it … and nuts! It was delicious with the Cobb though 🙂
Enjoy this healthy homemade salad dressing recipe! I plan to add more dressings to the mix as they’re created.
