—> Frozen Oatmeal “Froatmeal” Recipe <—
There’s overnight oats, steal-cut oats, quick oats, old fashioned oats, etc. But have you heard of frozen oatmeal? I sure haven’t!
When I finally made the decision to get back in shape after my first pregnancy, I tried many diets. I felt helpless to loose the last bit of weight that I wanted to until I discovered the macronutrient diet. I’m not currently dieting, but as often as possible I try to eat macronutrient balanced meals, because they keep me feeling full, I don’t have to eliminate certain food groups (causing intense cravings), and eating this way just makes me feel good!
Frozen Oatmeal is something that I came up with after I had my son. It’s a great addition to a breastfeeding diet, because oats are a low glycemic and slow digesting, potentially aiding breastmilk production and increasing supply.
This recipe is also delicious and meets the standards for a macronutrient balanced meal. Win, win, win.
Any protein powder can be used in this recipe but my favorite is the Orgain Organic Plant Protein!
- 1 tbs. Nut Butter
- 1 Cup Almond Milk
- ½ Frozen Banana
- 1 tsp - 1 tbsp. Raw Honey (Sub pure maple syrup for a vegan recipe)
- ½ Scoop Protein Powder - I use Orgain Organic Plant Protein
- ½ Cup Old Fashion Oats
- 4-5 Ice Cubes
- Place all ingredients in blender, and blend until smooth.
- Pour into your favorite breakfast bowl and top with your favorite garnishes (more bananas, granola, chia seeds, flax-meal, more honey, goji berries, etc.)
- Dig in!
